Frequently Asked Questions

Flow through movement without worry!

What do I need to take a virtual class?

You need 5 things:

  • a fully charged phone, laptop or iPad

  • a yoga mat

  • water bottle

  • any equipment you requested to use

  • enough space to practice.

A good way to test if you have enough space is to lay down on your mat and pretend to make a snow angel with your arms and legs. I will need to be able to see your whole body during our session to help cue form so make sure you have some way to prop your phone up. Horizontal is best since most of the exercises will be seated or lying down. A heavy water bottle, stack of books or the like can simulate a tripod if you don’t already have one. I will have headphones and a microphone so you can hear me clearly. If you are hard of hearing or in a large space, consider wearing headphones or airpods as well but this is not required.

What should I wear to a Pilates class?

Wear something breathable, stretchy and comfortable. A T-shirt or active top with leggings, active shorts, or sweatpants with elastic bottom are ideal. Sweatshirts should be crewneck or without a hood. You can be barefoot, wear grippy socks or lightweight sneakers.

What should I do if I injure myself before a scheduled class?

If this injury is unusual or new (i.e. broken bone, emergency surgery, etc.) please consult your health care provider before engaging in any physical activity. If you are experiencing a reoccurring injury or slight discomfort, please share that on your intake form or at the start of our class and we will make the proper modifications!

If the injury occurs after the cancellation window (12 hrs before appointment), please email or text me to let me know. Accidents happen and I’d be glad to reschedule your appointment or refund your payment.

I am the primary Care provider. What if my child needs me during our session?

Being a parent is your number one responsibility but it doesn’t mean you have to put your health aside. If a child cries or needs you during our session, I invite you to bring your child into our session or tend to their need if it’s a quick fix. There is a lot of breath work, fundamental and low impact movement we can do with your child in your arms or nearby. Balance is key and I’m happy to help you find your equilibrium as a parent!

How many classes should I be taking a week?

You should try to take 2 to 3 classes a week to feel results and advance your skill level. Consistency and dedicated time is the key to deepening any practice. Ideally, spacing out your practice to every other day helps your body recover and prevents burn out. For example, a Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday schedule is preferable.
