My Pilates Journey

“I wonder what it would feel like to be in love with my body.”

My Pilates journey began with this singular thought. At 27 years old I started to believe that after years of disordered eating, my relationship with my body would never be positive but, the thought of “what if” would not leave my mind.

In 2020 during the global pandemic, I turned to Pilates and began teaching myself through books and online videos. It wasn’t the routine or the desire to change the way I looked that held my interest, it was the dedicated time I set aside to spend time with my self and see what my body was capable of. I began practicing consistently and saw my body becoming more balanced, flexible and stronger. As my practice deepened, my self love and confidence finally took root. I had made a home within myself.

I decided to help others create find this sacred space within themselves. In 2022 I graduated from Humani Pilates Teacher Training program and have since completed over 100 hours of Mat practice, Reformer practice, and teacher training. I became an instructor at South Slope Pilates in Asheville, NC in November 2023, gaining vital experience teaching group classes on Lagree machines.

My training, coupled with a decade of experience working as an advocate for mental health & suicide prevention through public speaking, has fortified my ability to help you arrive in your body in a unique and meaningful way. We are not just moving to move, we are practicing Pilates to heal from the inside out.

“It's never too late to show up for yourself.”

This is my philosophy. Pilates is for every body because everyone holds within them the positive potential to Become. By engaging with your breath and moving your body intentionally and with thought, I can assist you in strengthening your mind/body connection and encouraging a genuine curiosity about what your body can do for you.

Love your body. Change your mind. Start making moves today.
